As children reach their last year of school with us at Mad Hatter House before hearing to Primary School, many parents are wondering how we support children through this transition.
At Mad Hatter House being a life-long leaner is a cornerstone of our philosophy. We believe in supporting children to develop skills and knowledge that will support them through their whole life, inlacing helping them to make a Smoot transition into primary school.
We also acknowledge however, that this is an extra-special time for children and families. We know that when the time comes, families want their children to enter "big school" with the skills and dispositions needed to thrive in a school environment.
Our SCATTERS (Support to School Program), is an additional program for children in their year before school, that compliments our already comprehensive curriculum.
Our SCATTERS group allows one of our highly experienced Early Childhood Teachers to work with small groups of children, identifying their needs and goals, and helping to guide their learning.
As with all high quality transition programs, our SCATTERS program has a strong focus on building relationships between children, and between children and their new school.
We really look forward to family and community involvement in this program. Throughout this journey we hope to receive your views, feelings and thoughts, as well as those of your children.
We also will be connecting current SCATTERS children and families with past MHH children and families, to help build relationships, and to share questions and answers. If you would like to be part of this opportunity in any way, please let us know.
